How to celebrate your 21st {Quarantine edition}

May 23, 2020.

My 21st birthday was quite lovely, if I do say so myself 💁🏻‍♀️. I’ve never had a birthday in quarantine, so naturally this one was the best quarantine birthday I’ve ever had.

Based on my experience, I’ve accumulated some ways you can celebrate your big two one in quarantine:

  1. Have your sibling invest in some c̶o̶o̶l̶ e̶x̶p̶e̶n̶s̶i̶v̶e̶ things for you to make up the fact that you don’t get an exotic wine and cheese tasting and champagne poppin’ moment with your friends. {Shoutout to my big sister, a real one who has always invested the most in me}

Guess what’s in the big box? Send a comment below your guesses! ☆(◒‿◒)☆

2. Enjoy a nice meal cooked by Mom; the Good Lord knows that dining hall food does not compare to her steamed fish & veggies. Her blueberry muffins and chocolate cupcakes are bomb, too!

If you’ve never had a sip of alcohol before, today is the day! However if you do not have access to fine wine (or alcohol) of the sorts, substitute the wine with soda, as shown below. {Sprite or 7 Up works just fine.}

3. When your sweet dear friend comes to deliver a homemade card, she can deliver it straight into a bush between the 6 feet distance.

4. Said sweet dear friend and you should sit roughly 8 -10 feet apart to take those birthday photos. For the memories!

5. Continue to sit 8-10 feet apart to catch up and converse about the precedented times and future dreams. Make sure to snap a shot to document this special moment in the books. A quarantine birthday is a once-in-a-lifetime, folks.

My lovely friend pictured here; she’s a rockstar!

❋❋❋ In all seriousness though, I received so much love from all my friends & family. I’m so blessed to have so many wonderful, loving and unique people in my life; the flurry of texts, posts, stories and DMs really made my day! I really don’t mean to be cliché, but I look forward to 21 and the new memories it could bring me ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

So here we go – to 21 and beyond! ☆(◒‿◒)☆

Until next time,

“For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Jeremiah 29:11
