So today, I was supposed to be boarding a plane and flying to London for the summer of a life, studying and interning abroad for film & television. Today is also a special day because two years ago, I flew to Juneau, Alaska and settled there for the entire summer on mission with Cru (a campus ministry). And because I’m not flying to London right now, I decided to recall the very out-of-the-world, sublime, unrivaled summer I had two years ago, lookbook style. So here’s to the summer of my life, 2018 edition 🤓Enjoy!
A breathtaking view from Mount Roberts. Pictures will never do it justice. These were the most beautiful mountains I’ve ever seen in my life. Again, pictures just don’t do it justice but one of my favorite things about living in Alaska was that I could walk out the door and the mountains were right there. Mini village over there. God’s Universe. 💫 If you look closely, you can spot some dogs of Juneau! (This was a running joke on mission, literally every family in Juneau owned a dog; it’s dog-loving city) These four 🤩 – my life-long friends!! You could say we were one with nature here. One of our last days before leaving to go home to our respective states. 😪 Okay yes I know I look like Hagrid from Harry Potter here but the picture looks cool so 😁 On top of the world // Album dropping soon 😗✌️ It was a bad hair day ha, but for the sake of the picture… 📸 I was on a boat, 5 feet away from these incredible creatures. It was truly breathtaking. Downtown Juneau – a mood. BLESSED to have these ladies in my life. They’re real ones. I had the pleasure of living with the most unique & joyful roommates. Friends. Sisters. Family. One of my closest friends today, our birthdays are a day apart! We were blessed with the opportunity to go boating and whale-watching; whale watching in Juneau is different than whale watching elsewhere! The three musketeers. My roommate, who just graduated from University of Wisconsin-Stout this year!! A good friend of mine and our co-workers at the Alaska Shirt Company. Every Sunday, we would play ultimate frisbee with the locals. I, however, only participated in one game the entire summer because of an ongoing ankle injury 🙄 Juneau has this amazing waffle place called “Gonzo’s,” you’ve never had waffles quite like these before. My action group, nuff’ said. 🤩🤩🤩 Juneau Summer Mission 2018, Project Oscar.
And that’s a wrap! Thanks for joining me on this trip down the memory lane! For real though, I’m feeling pretty nostalgic right now, oof. Where are some places you have lived? Comment below! 👇
Until next time,
